Clients have described me as empathic and warm yet at the same time honest and direct. I believe that within each person lies the will towards health, and sources of strength and wisdom for moving in that direction. I see my role as helping to enable you to use those strengths to achieve your goals.
I am a certified couples therapist trained in Imago Relationship Therapy and also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Densitization and Reprocessing). I received my masters and doctorate from the University of Michigan, following my undergraduate work in Psychology at McGill University.
Prior to establishing my private practice in 1985, I worked with children, parents and families as a school psychologist in the Livonia School System and as a staff psychologist at Hawthorn Center, a children’s psychiatric hospital. During that period I also served as a consultant to the Ann Arbor Public Schools.
In addition to my work with individuals and couples, I have led groups in marital relationships, grief and loss, parenting and mood disorders.
